CIWL’s powerful advocacy voice helps women and girls to grow personally, succeed economically and thrive professionally through:

  • Selecting two high-impact fundraisers per year to assist other non-profits and civic organizations reach tangible goals.

  • Be sought as an advocate in the community and a go-to for influence, technical assistance, and funding in support of issues.

  • Providing much needed research for media outlets, policy makers, and thought leaders around the community.

Domestic Violence Prevention

Our projects include working with partners in the Northern Virginia and the greater Washington area to support their mission in assisting victims of domestic violence. For example, the Center provided much needed funds for Shelter House (a community-based, non-profit organization serving homeless families in Fairfax County, Virginia) purchasing the program's alarm system. We hope to provide additional support to local, regional and national organizations as the Center grows.

Human Trafficking Prevention

Our projects include performing community awareness and outreach for the following local, national and international organizations.

  • Just Ask Prevention Program: Focuses on exposing teen sex trafficking in the Washington, DC area and mobilizing our community to prevent the crime.

  • Blue Campaign, The Department of Homeland Security, ICE: Presents the unified voice for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) efforts to combat human trafficking. Working in collaboration with law enforcement, government, non-governmental and private organizations, the Blue Campaign strives to protect the basic right of freedom and to bring those who exploit human lives to justice.

  • Shared Hope International: Dedicated to bringing an end to sex trafficking through our three-pronged approach – prevent, restore, and bring justice.
