The May 5th event held in Fairfax, VA featured a panel of local experts from organizations which work to tackle human trafficking and domestic violence. The panel highlighted the prevalence of trafficking in an area many might think would be immune. Dozens of guests heard firsthand from the mother of a local teenage human trafficking victim who was first approached in her high school by a trafficker.
The panelists made clear that these issues affecting women are often intertwined, requiring a variety of assistance to help them recover and progress. Through its 501(c )(3) charity, CIWL is on a mission to support and promote the health, education and full economic and civil equality of women and girls.
